It is like being guided by a good friend. The author, Gordon MacKenzie, writes with humour and humanity. Go ahead, have some fun. Truly an essential notebook. This is NOT a colour-by-numbers step-by-step book, but a concise list of techniques with how and when to use them.
I won't repeat what others have already said, except that this book stands out as one of my top two watercolor books. THIS is good instruction. Practical, specific, organized, clear, useful.Get it. I embarrassingly admit that I have GOBS of watercolor books, and well, too many of them are mediocre or just lame. However, having been a teacher and an artist for ten years, I know good instruction when I see it.
Best book I've bought so far on the subject of watercolors. various paints, brushes, what to look for, etc. This book is all inclusive, from basics to techniques. Includes a lot of information that helps with purchasing supplies i.e.
This is one great book. From this book your art work and your ability to creat it will be fun and confident. This book is for the artist. Lots of examples, well written and a pleasure to study.
